Wolf Introduction In Colorado

The wolf introduction process in Colorado is multifaceted with state and federal actions still pending. 

At the state level, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission gave final approval to the final Colorado Wolf Restoration and Management Plan in May. Click here to read the final plan. The final approval clears the way for CPW biologists to introduce wolves in the Western Slope area and meet the deadline of reintroduction by December 31, 2023 (pending additional legislative/administrative actions). CCA has been actively engaged in the process and has been working directly with CPW to provide resources and information to help our industry prepared for introduction.
