Colorado Cattlemen’s Foundation Establishes Wildfire Relief Fund for Livestock Producers

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado Cattlemen’s Foundation (CCF) has established a wildfire relief fund, in coordination with local cattlemen’s and stockgrowers' associations, to assist livestock producers affected by wildfires across Colorado. The foundation was established in 1981, starting from a generous contribution from the estate of long-time CCA member Leonard Horn. Since then, the Foundation has proudly continued its mission to strengthen Colorado’s beef industry through education, leadership development, and innovation.

The wildfire relief fund is intended to help address agricultural losses and recovery expenses not covered by insurance, government programs, or other sources of assistance, including fencing, agricultural structures, feed, and other expenses associated with recovery and rebuilding.

American Ag Credit has made a generous donation to launch the relief effort. The Scripps Howard Fund has also contributed to the fund in support of affected livestock producers.

“American AgCredit is honored to support Colorado Cattlemen’s Association's wildlife relief efforts with a $10,000 donation,” said Ty Stucky, head of regional banking for American AgCredit’s Colorado territory. “As a cooperative dedicated to serving agriculture and rural communities, we understand the challenges that wildlife-related events can create for livestock producers and the families who depend on them. Supporting those impacted reflects our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve and helping ensure a strong, sustainable future for Colorado agriculture.”

“The devastating wildfires have affected families, ranchers, and entire communities across Colorado. As a local broadcaster, we’ve had a front-row seat to both the challenges people are facing and the incredible resilience they’ve shown,” said Ross White, vice president and general manager of KOAA News5 and KKTV 11 News. “We are grateful to the Scripps Howard Fund for making this contribution possible and proud to support the Colorado Cattlemen’s Foundation’s wildfire relief efforts. Recovery takes a community, and we hope these resources provide meaningful assistance to those working to rebuild their livelihoods and move forward.”

“We sincerely thank American Ag Credit and Scripps Howard Fund, KOAA News5, and KKTV 11 for stepping forward to support Colorado’s livestock producers,” said Mark LeValley, Colorado Cattlemen’s Association President. “Wildfires can have devastating and lasting impacts on agricultural operations. These generous contributions demonstrate the strength of Colorado’s agricultural community, and the importance of coming together to help our neighbors and fellow producers recover and rebuild.”

Individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in contributing to the wildfire relief fund are encouraged to contact the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association at 303-431-6422.

Livestock producers who have been impacted by the Aspen Acres Fire or any other Colorado wildfire in 2026 are encouraged to complete the Wildfire Assistance Request Form (https://forms.gle/MMUyNXYGdk8o9KrC6).
