LeValley Welcomed as Colorado Cattlemen’s Association’s Next President

DENVER, Colo. - During our 2026 Annual Convention, hosted June 22-24th in Loveland, Colo, we welcomed the 121st president of Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), Mark LeValley, a fourth generation livestock producer from Hotchkiss, Colo. Mark joined the CCA Board of Directors in 2016, but has served CCA since 1987 as the Game and Fish Committee Chair, then Brand & Theft Committee lead. While in leadership at CCA, Mark has been involved in many state organizations and has represented CCA with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association in Washington, D.C. During his presidency, Mark looks forward to closing the Heading Home Campaign, encouraging members to engage in policy surrounding wolf management and public lands, and continuing to provide a voice for Colorado’s livestock producers.
Mark follows outgoing CCA President Curt Russell of Sugar City, Colorado. Russell’s presidency was marked by the association’s efforts to navigate political and environmental challenges affecting Colorado cattle producers, as well as the successful return of CCA to its historic home in the Livestock Exchange Building.
While reflecting on his term as CCA President, Russell said, “Thank you to the members of CCA for allowing me to serve as your spokesman for the past year. It is an experience I would not trade and will remember for the rest of my life. It has been a year of highs and lows and everything in between. While we continue to face political headwinds, drought, record-low snowpack, and difficult conversations about the future of Colorado River water, we've also seen tremendous victories- from historic cattle markets and a successful legislative session to CCA's return home to the Livestock Exchange Building. Those accomplishments remind me that this association remains committed to serving its members and strengthening Colorado's beef industry. It has been a privilege to be part of that work.”
CCA’s 2026-2027 president, Mark LeValley, and his wife, Robbie, who served as president of CCA from 2010-2011, reside in Hotchkiss, Colo., where their soon-to-be sixth-generation family owns and operates the LeValley Ranch. Mark and Robbie work alongside their two sons, Ross and James, and Mark's brother, Hank, including Ryan and Bryce. The LeValley Ranch is a cow-calf and stocker operation comprised of private land and BLM allotments. LeValley Ranch grazes its public and private land in a deferred rotation, resulting in large landscapes that exceed the standards for Gunnison Sage-grouse habitat. Their operation also allows them to offer big-game and upland bird hunting. LeValley Ranch, along with five other ranches, owns and operates Homestead Meats in Delta, Colorado, which offers custom USDA processing and sells their beef directly to consumers. This gate-to-plate operation allows LeValley Ranch to offer the highest quality product to local consumers. Among many accolades for their range management and production practices, including the Colorado Section of the Society for Range Management Excellence in Range award, the 2023 Colorado Leopold Award, and most recently, the LeValley Ranch was recognised as the winner of the 2024 Region V Environmental Stewardship Award Program (ESAP).
Mark understands the dedication and hard work required to stand the test of time as a producer in Colorado through changing landscapes and unfavorable legislation. Drawing on his experience as both a producer and leader, Mark is committed to representing the needs of CCA's grassroots membership and protecting the future of Colorado's beef industry. He looks forward to working with CCA's members, board of directors, affiliates, and industry partners to address the challenges ahead while building on the association's strong legacy.
“I have served as a representative for agriculture on the Colorado Wildlife Commission, Colorado State Board of Stock Inspection, numerous water committees, and, just like all of you, several other community boards. Our family ranches in Western Colorado are on private and public ground, and we have fought the endangered species battles firsthand. I bring this broad-based experience to the job for all of you. I look forward to serving all of you and will do my best to represent all of Colorado. Thank you again, and I look forward to hearing from you.”
