DENVER, Colo. - Today in Loveland, Colo., Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) and Colorado CattleWomen (CCW) finished off the third and final day of their Annual Convention. Tuesday began with the ninth annual Ranching Legacy Symposium featuring the “State of the Industry: Critical Updates on Critical Issues” session. During this session, attendees heard updates on national issues from trusted industry partners. Thank you to our speakers, Dr. Stephen Koontz with Colorado State Dept. of Agricultural & Resource Economics, Garrett Edmonds from the National Public Lands Council, and Colin Woodall from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. The afternoon brought attendees to the Colorado State Veterinary Complex for a lively panel with all five department heads from the College of Agriculture, followed by tours of the brand new livestock and equine facilities.
CCA hosted an “Under the Big Top” reception to close the trade show and celebrate our sponsors and exhibitors. The trade show reception led into our “Big Top Bash” banquet filled with laughs and live music. The evening reception and banquet provided the perfect end to a full day of education, discussion, and networking.
To wrap up this year’s convention, CCA hosted an association business meeting and awards breakfast on Wednesday, which included recognition of service by CCA members and leaders. During CCA’s business meeting, two new directives were presented and passed by the CCA Board of Directors, and two interim resolutions were presented and passed by the CCA membership. Those included Compensation on Private Property Takings, Colorado River Conserved Consumptive Use Program, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle Futures Contracts Price Limits, and Conservation Easement Modernization of Approaches to Valuation and USDA Programs Restrictive Covenants. New association leadership was also elected, including 2026-2027 CCA President Mark LeValley of Hotchkiss, Colo. “We thank our members and stakeholders who traveled from across the state, creating incredible attendance at this year’s Annual Convention. It has been a great success, from grassroots policy discussions to welcoming a new generation of producers in Colorado, and most importantly, connecting the association with our state partners,” said outgoing President Curt Russell of Sugar City, Colo.
