CCA's Newest Member Service

CCA’s CO-AG Legal Center has been implemented to meet a member-designated need to receive qualified legal representation partnered with access to professional counsel providing issue evaluation and research. If legal representation is needed, the CO-AG Legal Center takes the guess work out of selecting an attorney. We have prequalified attorneys that are experts in the following subject-matter areas who are prepared to meet your legal needs:

CO-AG Legal Center Hotline Access:

Priority hotline access for legal information and assistance just as soon as you have a question or incur a legal problem. Services are associated with the subject- matter areas listed above related to agriculture. Once enrolled, you will be provided with a dedicated hotline phone number and email address for your use.

Qualified Attorney Referral

  • Should your issue warrant representation by an attorney, the CO-AG Legal Center will give you a list of prequalified attorneys within the subject-matter area of your concern. CO-AG Legal Center Attorneys meet the following qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the relevant laws and regulations within subject matter area;

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in this subject-matter area;

  • At least three (3) years non-legal experience in an industry related to the subject-matter area;

  • At least one (1) active client in this subject-matter area;

  • Identify this practice area for purposes of malpractice policy;

  • Presently active in the relevant bar association(s);

  • Prepared and given presentations or published articles within this subject-matter area; and/or

  • Taught at least one (1) full semester course within this subject-matter area.


Services will continue to be expanded based on member needs. CO-AG Legal Center will provide an online legal center library consisting of legal briefs, templates, and helpful links. The CO-AG Legal Center will seek to align itself in the future with other professional entities in the legal arena where ongoing educational and informational opportunities for attorneys and members will be provided.

*IMPORTANT* To receive this service, an $100 enrollment must be paid during the initial membership joining or renewal period. If the service is later requested and the member did not enroll for the service, a per-hour fee will be charged.

Attorney participation in the CO-AG legal referral service is consistent with the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct, which allow an attorney to pay the usual charges of a not-for-profit lawyer referral service (Colo. RPC 7.2(b)(2)). In addition, this referral service is structured to specifically conform with the most recent guidance from the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee’s Formal Opinion 106 (Ethics Opinion 106 (adopted June 19, 1999; revised Oct. 21, 2013)).
