Tim Canterbury Becomes New CCA President
Tim Canterbury from Howard became the 2009-2010 president of the Colorado Cattlemen's Association (CCA) on June 17 during the association’s annual convention in Grand Junction. Canterbury was born in Canon City, Colorado where he grew up on the family ranch in Howard. Tim attended Wyoming Tech where he became a certified diesel mechanic He also attended the Colorado Law
Enforcement Training Academy. He married Rhonda in 1979 and they have spent their lives on the Canterbury Ranch.
Tim has been a member of Colorado Cattlemen's Association (CCA) since the early 1980’s. He also held all officer positions with the Fremont County Cattlemen’s Association, sat on CCA’s State Lands, Tax and Credit, was chairman of the Brand and Theft steering committee, and gained his first seat on CCA’s Board in 2002. Tim also represented Colorado at the national level by sitting on the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Tax and Credit Committee.
Tim’s other memberships and offices held include: Vice-Chair of the Fremont County Planning and Zoning Commission for fourteen years; Chairman for the Grazing Advisory Board for the Royal Gorge Resource Area; and a Hunter I.D. Instructor for the Department of Wildlife.
Tim has been awarded the 2000 Federal Lands Range Livestock Man of the Year, 1999 Hunter Education Outstanding, and 1998 Youth Mentoring Program with Colorado Division of Wildlife awards.

Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) is the state’s only nonprofit trade organization exclusively representing Colorado’s cattle producers. Founded in 1867, CCA is the nation’s oldest state cattlemen’s association.
