More on the 1867 Club

The 1867 Club is an organization that brings together individuals who are interested in the viability, sustainability, and heritage of Colorado’s agricultural industry.  Whether you grew up in agriculture or just have a passion for the industry, the 1867 Club is a venue where individuals can connect with others to become part of a larger community to engage in conversation and obtain access to a broad network of people and information.

Proposed 1867 Club Activities & Events 

  • Amass relationships with others who live in metropolitan areas that value agriculture
  • Strengthen relationships and enhance networking between cattlemen and 1867 Club participants
  • Provide opportunities to communicate and to submit your ideas about how to best get the word out about the importance of agriculture in Colorado

  • Over 30% of the counties in Colorado are dependent upon agriculture
  • Nearly 50% of Colorado’s 66 million acres are farms and ranches
  • 105,000 of Colorado jobs are in agribusiness
  • The U.S. has less than 10 percent of the world’s cattle inventory, yet it produces nearly 25 percent of the world’s beef supply
  • The world population is 6.7 billion and counting
  • To keep up with population growth, between now and 2050, the world must produce as much food as it has in the past 12,000 years, combined
